One day while Aesop Fox was strolling through the Fablehood, he saw his friend Gepetto and his ‘son’ Pinocchio at Once Upon a Console. Pinocchio had his quite reasonably sized nose up against the glass looking at a Playstation 5. The ‘boy’ was quite excited.
“This is the one, Father! This is the gaming system that the real boys play. With its fighting and its racing and its quests. Oh Father! If only we could have it. I would surely be a real boy then.”
“Ohhhh Pinocchio. How I would love to see you frolic with the other boys. But on my Shop Teacher’s salary, we just can’t afford it.”
Pinocchio kept staring longingly at the machine. After hearing this exchange, Aesop Fox strolled up, whistling. “Say Pincocchio, got your eye on the PS5, eh?”
“Yes, Mr. Fox! It’s what all the real boys play!”
“Sure it is,” Aesop said. “It’s a shame they won’t be playing it for long, though.”
Pinocchio finally turned his attention from the window. “What do you mean?”
“Well, eventually they’ll get tired of playing and try to find adventure in the real world.”
